At Suvarnabhumi Airport, the AOT’s Medical Department sets up 3 medical clinics located at the Main Passenger Terminal Building (MTB) , Passenger Terminal Building Concourse A and Passenger Terminal Building Concourse G. The 24-hour clinics are strategically located alongside the eastern and western runways. Their medical jurisdiction extends to 20,000 rai within airport area. While caring for passengers, pilots and airline crews, the Medical Department also extends its services to civil servants, airline staff, companys’ employees, the outsider, AOT officers and their families. In a case of emergency or upon a passenger’s request, the Medical Department, with 7 ambulances on duty could provide ambulance service to transfer the sick or injured to local hospitals
Apart from providing aforementioned services, the Medical Department also issues regulations on health both physical and mental. While on the job, fully consciousness is a key factor and having visual equity is crucial. One of the health requirements for drivers is to be able to recognize colours correctly; they have to pass a color-blindness test, known as the Ishihara Test or Lantern Test. Medicine that affects brain function such as anti-epileptic or antihistamine drug is prohibited to be taken before or while driving vehicle. The Main purpose of regulations is to reduce the rate of accident per working hour in the airside area.
