Suvarnabhumi Airport informed that there was someone, who stealthily refer to being the sand reclamation contractor in the airportand warned not to be misguided by someone, since there is currently no bidding for the sand filling at all.
Mr. SomchaiSawasdeepon, Director of Suvarnabhumi Airport, Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) revealed that now someone was referring stealthily that his own company has been hired by the Suvarnabhumi Airport to manage the land development and sand refilling works for the construction of the Suvarnabhumi Airport Expansion Project Phase IIand he deceived many subcontractors that if they want to sell sand or to refill the sand in the said expansion project, they have to contact via his own company only and also shall pay the commission for the administration to the company as well. Some subcontractor was deceived. Therefore, Suvarnabhumi Airport would like to inform that you should not this group of people, since Suvarnabhumi Airport does not hire any company to manage the sand filling in the airport now.
Mr. Somchai added that the construction Suvarnabhumi Airport Expansion Project Phase II is still in the beginning phase only and on 30th May 2012 Suvarnabhumi Airport has just signed the contract to employ the EPM Consortium Group to be the consultant and to administrate the project. Now EPM Consortium will study the project and then prepare the models to determine the scope of work and then the specification for employing the designer first and following by a tender for designers, when the specification is completed. Thereafter, There will be a tender for contractors. The construction is expected to start in the middle of 2015 and ready for service in 2017.
In addition, the tendering for the works of the Suvarnabhumi Airport Expansion Projects Phase II will be announced in various media such as newspapers and website www.suvarnabhumiairport.com. So, therefore, interested parties can keep up with the tender news from the above-mentioned media.
