| Suvarnabhumi Airport campaigns for safety in the airside area |

Suvarnahumi Airport is holding the Airside Area Safety Week 2011 from September 5th to 9th, 2011 to campaign for safety in the airside area.
Flying Officer Narongchai Tanadchangsaeng, Deputy General Manager of Suvarnabhumi Airport (Operation Line), the Airports of Thailand PCL said that the airport is organizing the Airside Area Safety Week 2011 from September 5th to 9th, 2011 with exhibitions and campaigning activities about airside safety to create awareness about safety and possible accidents in airport staff working in the airside area. The activities are centered around the motto “THINK before START.”
He said that the event is held to promote safety following the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations Part 82 and the regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) which indicate that international airports have to implement the Safety Management System in planning, controlling and assessing the airport’s safety and in assuring passenger safety. For Thailand, the Department of Civil Aviation, a governmental body which is responsible for aviation in Thailand, issued the airport safety regulations which have been in effect since March 2nd, 2011.
The Deputy General Manager also said that the event includes an exhibition about safety regulations in the airside area held at the end of the Concourse A, a medical booth by the Medical Council of Thailand that provide advice and suggestions to the staff who have to work in the airside area, a talk titled “Think Differently, Live Differently” by special keynote speaker Ajarn Sanay Srisuwan and many more activities.
